27 – Ans: A. A node, which is represented by a point in the diagram, is always formed at the closed end of the pipe [So, D is incorrect] and an antinode is always formed at the open end of the pipe [So, C is incorrect]. At a node, the direction of motion changes [since if we consider the graph, the displacement before/after the node may be in one direction and the other displacement after/before the node is in another direction] So, B is incorrect and A is correct.

30 - Ans: B. {Detailed explanations for this question is available as Solution 929 at Physics 9702 Doubts | Help Page 191 - http://physics-ref.blogspot.com/2015/08/physics-9702-doubts-help-page-191.html}

  8. In Q40, is q/m ratio the same thing that is known as "specific charge"? From here: http://resources.schoolscience.co.uk/STFC/16plus/partich5pg2.html ?

  9. In Q40 - is the q/m ratio that you are using, is it the same thing as the "specific charge", from here? http://resources.schoolscience.co.uk/STFC/16plus/partich5pg2.html

    Otherwise why did you choose the q/m ratio? Which AS Physics formula or fact helps us to realize that we need the q/m ratio to solve this question?
